Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki, an American political advisor, was the 34th White House Press Secretary from 2021 to 2022. As a member of the Democratic Party, she was previously the White House deputy presses secretary (2009-2011); White House deputy director of communications director(2009-2011); spokesperson for the United States Department of State (2013)-2015; and White House communications director (2015)-2017. Psaki was an election contributor to CNN between 2017 and 2020. Psaki began her career in 2001, as a political contributor for CNN. She worked on elections for the re-elections of Tom Harkin (Iowa Democrats) for the U.S. Senate, and Tom Vilsack (Iowa Governor). Psaki was then appointed deputy press secretary for John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. From 2005 to the year 2006, Psaki served as communications director to U.S. representative Joseph Crowley and as regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. In 2012, Psaki returned to political communications as the press secretary for President Obama's 2012 reelection campaign. 20 years ago, Psaki was named spokesperson for United States Department of State in February 2013. Her appointment at the Department of State fueled speculation that she would succeed White House Press Secretary Jay Carney after he left the White House,[21] but on May 30th, 2014 it was announced that Josh Earnest would replace Carney. In 2015, she was recalled to the White House as communications director and was there until the end of the Obama administration.
