Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. She is most famous for playing the role of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). Sedgwick was awarded two Emmy Awards in the years 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. The series ended on August 13th, 2012 following the conclusion of the seventh season. Sedgwick is also well-known for her recurring role as Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born in July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Individuals (1992), Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996) as well as What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2011) are also among her many. Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), a speech teacher and educational/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian of English descent. Sedgwick has declared that she is Jewish and has been a participant in Passover meals.
